Ayana Albertini - Fleurant

Ayana Albertini-Fleurant is a Howard University class of 2019 graduate with two Bachelor’s in Political Science and Environmental Studies. During her time at Howard, Ayana served as President of the HU Green Team where she worked to expand green initiatives and raise the eco-awareness of students on campus. She has interned with environmental groups such as the Sierra Club and the Climate Action Campaign where she worked in the areas of policy and public engagement. Shortly after becoming the first student to graduate from the Environmental Studies program at Howard, she returned to the University to contribute local environmental justice research to the curriculum and to assist with establishing a pipeline program from local high schools to the Environmental Studies program. She previously worked for the Union of Concerned Scientists in their Climate & Energy department where she provided programmatic support to the Federal Affairs and Policy Teams. After graduate school, Ayana hopes to work as a consultant, providing businesses and organizations solutions for sustainable management and policy analysis. In her personal life, Ayana has centered sustainability in her love for fashion, beauty and Black culture. On instagram, she is a content creator for a platform dedicated to Black sustainability called @SustainTheCulture, in addition to developing a sustainable fashion blog.
